The Lorenzo Bonaldi Award for Art – EnterPrize comes to its tenth edition, the important international award dedicated to curators under 30 conceived by GAMeC in 2003 with the support of the Bonaldi Group, and born from the desire to remember the passion for art and for collecting of Lorenzo Bonaldi.

Since its establishment, the Award has aimed to emphasize the centrality and significance of the figure of the curator in the international art scene through the production of an original exhibition project, conceived on the basis of an exhibition space and a budget assigned.

Since 2005, it has held a biennial frequency, alternating the year of the assignment with that of the realization of the winning project, and has seen the support of a conference – Qui. Enter Atlas – International Symposium of Emerging Curators – dedicated to updating on curatorial strategies in both independent and institutional contexts.

From this year, the format of the Award is renewed: the symposium gives way to a new series of exhibition projects that will be hosted in the Spazio Zero of the Museum in the year of assignment, by renowned professionals of the contemporary art world.
For this first occasion, Edoardo Bonaspetti will be the Guest Curator of the first solo exhibition in an Italian museum by Luke Willis Thompson – among the finalists of the Turner Prize 2018 – in view from May 30th to September 1st 2019.

On the occasion of the opening of the new series of GAMeC summer exhibitions, on May 30th, the winner of the tenth edition of the Award will be announced, which sees the following under-30 curators compete:

Sofia Lemos, nominated by Claudio Zecchi, Independent Curator, Italy / Portugal

will award the prize to the project recognized as the most innovative. The evaluation takes into account multiple points of view: critical, theoretical, content but also practical and economic.
